What started out as a small gathering of family and mates to celebrate the sending out of Cinema Lumière into the world, ended up as a brilliant 80-people party, with the Mayor, The Evening Standard and even one of my favourite directors – Julien Temple! Book and Kitchen hosted the evening, with food from chef mates Jo and Mark, dancing courtesy of Jo Cang and his gorgeous music and even a reading which made everyone wet themselves (the appalling French accent, rather than cripplingly funny jokes). To top it off, a scriptwriter who works for HeyDay Films (Harry Potter) approached me at the end, asking if anyone had optioned the film rights. I couldn’t have dreamt it better!
